Why this site exists

Most numerology on the open web is either thin (a paragraph of generic copy attached to a number) or trapped behind a paywall (a "personalized report" that turns out to be the same generic copy in a PDF). We wanted a third option: a calm, well-organized public reference that takes the tradition seriously, computes the numbers transparently, and offers long-form interpretive writing for every number, every name, and every concept on the site.

What we are

• A reference for classical Pythagorean numerology applied to the most common first names in the United States.
• A transparent calculator: every number on every page can be reproduced by hand using the formulas in our methods page.
• A free resource. There is no paywall, no signup, and no "premium" report.

What we are not

• Not a fortune-telling service. Numerology, in our view, is a language for self-reflection.
• Not a substitute for professional counsel — medical, legal, financial, or relational.
• Not affiliated with any tradition that requires money for access to the basic numbers.

How we choose what to write about

The name archive is drawn from the U.S. Social Security Administration's national baby-name dataset covering every year from 1880 to the present, filtered to the 11,542 first names with at least one thousand lifetime U.S. births and merged into a single alphabetical archive. The Numbers section covers every digit from one through nine, plus the three master numbers eleven, twenty-two, and thirty-three. The Concepts section covers the four core numerology concepts every reader should understand.

The tradition we work in

NumeroPath is a Pythagorean numerology site working within the modern Western tradition consolidated in the early twentieth century by writers like Mrs. L. Dow Balliett, Florence Campbell, and Juno Jordan. Every calculation on this site uses the standard Pythagorean alphabet (A=1, B=2, on through I=9, then J=1 to Z=8), preserves the master numbers 11, 22, and 33 at every reduction step, and treats the four core numbers (Expression, Soul Urge, Personality, Life Path) as the structural skeleton of a reading. Where we cite older traditions — Hebrew gematria, Chaldean numerology, the classical Pythagorean writings — we do so for context, and we note clearly which tradition we are drawing on. On every name page we additionally publish the Chaldean Expression Number, so readers can see how the older system would read the same name.

Our editorial principles

We write to four principles, and we test every page against them before publishing.

• Transparency. Every number on every page can be reproduced by hand. Our methods reference publishes the full calculation rules, including the deliberate choice to treat Y as a consonant universally.
• Substance. The interpretive writing on each number page is long-form — typically a couple of thousand words on the gifts, shadow, archetype, historical lineage, career fit, relationship dynamics, and life purpose of that vibration. We are not interested in the one-paragraph treatments that dominate the free corners of the internet.
• Honesty about scope. Numerology, in our reading, is a language for self-reflection — useful in the way a good piece of poetry or a well-asked question is useful. It is not a forecast, not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for medical, legal, financial, or relational counsel. We say this explicitly on the pages most likely to be read by people looking for one of those things.
• No paywalls, no upsells, no fabricated personalization. Many of the free numerology sites on the web exist primarily to convert a reader into a customer for a paid "personalized" report whose contents turn out to be the same generic copy reflowed into a PDF. We do not do this. Every page here is the entire reading we have for that page.

What you can do with this site

Look up your own first name in the archive for a full reading. Look up any number from 1 to 33 in the numbers section for the long-form character study of that vibration. What this site is not trying to do

This site is not a community, a forum, or a marketplace. There are no comments, no profiles, no subscriptions. We are a reference — closer in spirit to a small carefully-curated library than to a social platform.
